Lache pas (pronounced losh pa) is a place where people in middle school, junior high, and high school can connect with each other, express their thoughts, and rest after experiencing hurricane Katrina. We hope this will be a place where you can find support now that so many of you will be creating new chapters in your lives after such dramatic change.

Lache pas is French for "Don’t let go." This is really short for Lache pas la patate, which means "don’t let go of the potato." People say this when they know things are tough, but want you to hang in there. It’s a testimony to the enduring spirit of the Cajun people.

We want you to make this site your own place. So come on in, look around, post your thoughts, and if you notice something missing, email us so we can try to include your ideas.

And remember...

Lache pas la patate!
